GCE A Levels
An increasingly popular curriculum in Hong Kong, GCE A Levels are traditionally two-year courses aimed at 16 to 19 years old, which allow students access to some of the best higher education institutes in the world, as well as professional and vocational courses, or employment. It is divided into the first year of study (the AS Level) and the second year (the full A Level). Brighten offers expert subject tuition and exam preparation in a range of subjects provided by all the major exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, WJEC and CIE).
A Levels are the first step in gaining access to a range of careers and further studies, and have been a benchmark for assessing student ability for over 60 years. They are available in over 30 subjects, a combination of any 3, 4 or 5 individual subjects can be taken by any student, although it is usually advised that a student not consider taking a subject at A Level if they have not achieved at least a Grade B in that subject at IGCSE, or an equivalent qualification.
Brighten’s professional and experienced tutors offer support throughout the A Level course. We work on building a supportive rapport between students and tutors, which focuses on the individual needs of each pupil. We offer guidance in terms of coursework, help with academic planning with regard to workload, give advice on which subjects to take with regard to prospective university studies, specialise in the different elements of course content, provide continual intellectual support with subject material, work on examination strategy, create mock tests to track progress and work alongside students undertaking past paper drills.
Brighten offers professional tuition in the following A Level subjects at both AS and A Level:
