Diploma in Business English and Communications

The Diploma in Business English and Communications is a course aimed at giving students practical skills and qualifications that will help them excel in the professional world. The course is highly vocational and provides students with an underpinning of practical knowledge and skills that can transfer to a variety of professional sectors. Once students have passed the necessary Core Units they can specialise in certain areas of study.

The course is divided into three levels with the students’ progress being officially recognised and accredited upon completion of each level, this is to reward and incentivize learning.

• The Award: attained once students have completed the three Core Units; this typically requires 90 teaching hours.

   

• The Certificate: awarded once students have completed three Specialist Units in addition to the Core Units; typically requires 180 teaching hours.

   

• The Diploma: awarded when students complete the three Core Units as wells as nine Specialist Units; typically requires 270 teaching hours.

   

Due to the flexibility of the course and Brighten’s small class sizes, the tutors are able to tailor the syllabus and assignments to the needs and abilities of those in the class. Brighten aims to work with local employers to find out the skills they demand from their employees.

Diploma in Business

The Diploma in Business course is a work related qualification aimed at providing students with the knowledge and skills needed to prepare for employment. It is a vocational course in which students apply the theory they learn to activity within the business sector.

It is hoped that after gaining this qualification students will be able to progress to (or within) employment or continue vocational studying.
